CCTV Cameras to beef up Sri Lanka security:

At least two cameras will be fixed at each main colour light junction while some will be fixed at other secret locations. A group of specialists of the Katubedda Engineering faculty are assisting the police in this effort. According to the proposed plan all cameras will be connected to one network and all data collected will be linked up to a control room at the Colombo City Traffic Police headquarters in Fort. The cameras will record video pictures 24 hours daily and a special police team will monitor them round the clock. If anything unusual is recorded, immediate action will be taken by the officials to send a Police 119 Emergency Mobile Unit to the scene.

Our aim is to unite all Sri Lankans around the globe and to be the foremost source for latest and hot news on Sri Lanka and Sri Lankans wherever they live.”
